Obama The Monument Builder

April 4th, 2010

The Virtue of Selfishness (Signet) is a great book to read in the age of Obama when we are constantly bombarded by the orders from the great leader: "Give!", "Serve!", "Give Back!", etc.

If you want to understand Barack Hussein Obama and socialist intellectuals working with him and the type of transformation they are after; you should read the essay written by Ayn Rand in 1962: The Monument Builders.

Ayn Rand starts with the theme I have been using on this blog: Every time it is tried, socialism brought poverty, misery and death to millions of people. In 1962 she starts with: "Fifty years ago, there might have been some excuse (though not justification) for widespread belief that socialism is a political theory motivated by the benevolence and aimed at the achievement of men's well-being. Today, that belief can no longer be regarded as an innocent error. Socialism has been tried on every continent of the globe. In the light of its results, it is time to question the motives of socialism's advocates."

We are in 2010. Almost a half century after Ayn Rand wrote these words, a full century after the socialists started their experiments and failed miserably in achieving their stated the goals, we have right here in the United States of America, a socialist president who is trying to turn the most prosperous country in the world into a third-world socialist tyranny.

Here are my favorite quotes from this essay and how they apply to Obama socialism:

First a definition of socialism:

"The essential characteristic of socialism is the denial of individual property rights; under socialism, the right to property (which is the right of use and disposal) is vested in "society as a whole," i.e., in the collective, with production and distribution controlled by the state, i.e., by the government."

Obama's socialist government already took control of one of the biggest manufacturing base in this country: Car manufacturers. Controlling them is also controlling all the suppliers to these companies. Almost all the banking industry is under Obama's socialist government. Look how Obama is ordering them what to do in dealing with foreclosures and mortgages that are under water. Banks provide the lifeline of the economic system: Credit. Well, now it is all under the control of the Obama's socialist government. Obama can order which industry gets financing and which one does not as he will do with student loans. Be prepared to see a slew of rules about who get these student loans and what kinds of commitments they need to make to get these loans. Then you'll understand what the slogans "Serve" and "Give" truly means. How about that Health Care Reform Law? Now Obama's socialist government has total control of how you live your life. Guess how they are going to save money? By forcing you to eat, drink and live healthy. If you don't, you are becoming an undue burden to the "society" now that the "society" is paying for your health care... Well, the "society" has also have a right to refuse treatment when you are sick if it is too costly and/or you did not follow the healthy-living guidelines of your dear leader.

What is this "society" anyways? What is the "common good" Obama socialists demand we "serve" and "give"? Think about it folks... Who determines what is good for us as a whole? These socialists just passed a bill in spite of the fact that a majority of Americans did not want it. What is the reaction of the socialists? Majority of Americans are too stupid to know or understand what is good for them. So, keep this in mind: whenever a socialist pitches you things for the "good of society", he and a small group of intellectuals who would be dictating what the "common good" is and how it is delivered. Guess what? Your rights and liberties as an individual will be trampled upon.

"Socialism is not a movement of the people. It is a movement of the intellectuals, originated, led and controlled by the intellectuals, carried by them out of their stuffy ivory towers into those bloody fields of practice where they unite with their allies and executors: the thugs."

Think Obama, SEIU thugs, ACORN and a slew of leftist organizations.

Folks, this is serious stuff. Millions of people perished under the brutal socialist regimes and so-called western intellectuals condoned and found excuses for all the atrocities socialist regimes committed against their own people. You see folks, for "the good of society" it is OK to take individual rights and freedoms away, it is OK to confiscate property, it is OK to send people to slave-labor camps and it is OK to slaughter millions. Watch what Obama's friend Ayers had planned for Americans who cannot be re-educated.

The question is why? Why an allegedly smart, brilliant guy like Obama can't see what history clearly proves? What really motivates intellectuals like Obama? Folks, you do not need to be a rocket scientist to see that the United States is the most prosperous country in the world. Heck, there are millions of people in the world who would be better off living here in the U.S even way under the government designated poverty level than living in whatever the level of living standards they have in their country they currently live. Then there is the opportunity the United States offers to average people who choose to live a productive life: They themselves and their children most certainly will be better off, much much better off in the future. They are not trapped in poverty. This opportunity does not exist in any other country in a level it is available here. Why then Obama and his socialist intellectuals are trying to re-make this country?

"What, then, is the motive of such intellectuals? Power-lust. Power-Lust -- as a manifestation of helplessness, of self-loathing and of the desire for the unearned."

As Ayn Rand states, intellectuals like Obama has the desire for unearned greatness. These seekers of unearned greatness release and legalize the seekers of unearned material benefits. That's why it is a great day to be a moocher, parasite, looter in Obama's America. Obama the seeker of unearned greatness is announcing government handouts in the name of "public" needs and the looters, parasites and moochers pocket what they have not earned. Spreading the wealth as Obama calls it. Obama is "the spiritual parasite; who derives his illusion of 'greatness' -- like a fence receiving stolen goods -- from the power to dispose of that which he has not earned and from the mystic view of himself as the embodied voice of 'the public.'"

Look at what Obama has been doing since he took office: Giving away our hard-earned money while devising more schemes to confiscate more of it. More taxes, more fees, more regulations, more rules for productive Americans and more handouts to seekers of unearned benefits in the name of "public good." He is also living in a "Czarist-like luxury" with parties in the White house.

"... the only source of satisfaction open to the spiritual parasite, his only means to gain 'prestige' (apart from giving orders and spreading terror), is the most wasteful, useless and meaningless activity of all: the building of public monuments.

... a delusion of grandeur can be served only by switching, undefinable chimera of a public monument -- which is presented as a munificent gift to the victims whose forced labor or extorted money had paid for it -- which is dedicate to the service of all and none, owned by all and none, gaped at by all enjoyed by none."

Barack Hussein Obama, socialist ruler of the United States has just built his first monument: Health Care Reform Law. You can bet there are more monuments to be built to satisfy this parasite's desire for unearned greatness.

"When you consider the global devastation perpetrated by socialism, the sea of blood and millions of victims, remember that they were sacrificed, not for 'the good of 'mankind' nor for any 'noble ideal,' but for the festering vanity of some scared brute or some pretentious mediocrity who craved a mantle of unearned 'greatness' -- and that the monument to socialism is a pyramid of public factories, public theaters and public parks, erected on a foundation of human corpses, with the figure of the ruler posturing on top, beating his chest and screaming his plea for 'prestige' to the starless void above him."

Dow at 4000

February 27th, 2009

Yes, you read it right!

Dow is going to slide down to 4000.

It is no longer a secret folks: Obama and liberal democRATs determined to destroy the investor class. They are determined to destroy our confidence in the market. They want us all be dependent on the government, the government they run.

I sure would like to find out what all these liberal democRATs did with their portfolio within the last few months. They had inside information.

Whenever governments intervene in the market, in short, readers rush to buy Rand’s book. Why? The reason is explained by the name of a recently formed group on Facebook, the world’s biggest social-networking site: “Read the news today? It’s like ‘Atlas Shrugged’ is happening in real life”. The group, and an expanding chorus of fretful bloggers, reckon that life is imitating art.

Some were reminded of Rand’s gifted physicist, Robert Stadler, cravenly disavowing his faith in reason for political favour, when Alan Greenspan, an acolyte of Rand’s, testified before a congressional committee last October that he had found a “flaw in the model” of securitisation. And with pirates hijacking cargo ships, politicians castigating corporate chieftains, riots in Europe and slowing international trade—all of which are depicted in the book—this melancholy meme has plenty of fodder.

Atlas felt a sense of déjà vu

They are not only buying Atlas Shrugged but also pulling their money out of the reach of the looters.

Looters are in Charge

January 15th, 2009

Atlas Shrugged (Centennial Ed. HC)

Ayn Rand. Dutton Adult 2005, Hardcover, 1192 pages, $21.33

Books by or about Ayn Rand

One of my posts back in December was titled " Idiots in Charge". I should have titled it " Looters in Charge". Well, I guess, when you think about it... What is the difference? These liberal democRATs who praise each others' supreme intelligence and smartness on the floor of the senate and house are LOOTERS. They also are IDIOTS period!

Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years

For the uninitiated, the moral of the story is simply this: Politicians invariably respond to crises -- that in most cases they themselves created -- by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. These, in turn, generate more havoc and poverty, which inspires the politicians to create more programs . . . and the downward spiral repeats itself until the productive sectors of the economy collapse under the collective weight of taxes and other burdens imposed in the name of fairness, equality and do-goodism.

In the book, these relentless wealth redistributionists and their programs are disparaged as "the looters and their laws." Every new act of government futility and stupidity carries with it a benevolent-sounding title. These include the "Anti-Greed Act" to redistribute income (sounds like Charlie Rangel's promises soak-the-rich tax bill) and the "Equalization of Opportunity Act" to prevent people from starting more than one business (to give other people a chance). My personal favorite, the "Anti Dog-Eat-Dog Act," aims to restrict cut-throat competition between firms and thus slow the wave of business bankruptcies. Why didn't Hank Paulson think of that?

Chris Dodd, Charlie Rangel, Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi and countless other liberal democRATs are LOOTERS! As in the book, there are quite a few so-called business people who want to take advantage of their relationship with these looters to enrich themselves while destroying "the entrepreneur, the risk taker and the cultivator of wealth through human intellect".

The current economic strategy is right out of "Atlas Shrugged": The more incompetent you are in business, the more handouts the politicians will bestow on you. That's the justification for the $2 trillion of subsidies doled out already to keep afloat distressed insurance companies, banks, Wall Street investment houses, and auto companies -- while standing next in line for their share of the booty are real-estate developers, the steel industry, chemical companies, airlines, ethanol producers, construction firms and even catfish farmers. With each successive bailout to "calm the markets," another trillion of national wealth is subsequently lost. Yet, as "Atlas" grimly foretold, we now treat the incompetent who wreck their companies as victims, while those resourceful business owners who manage to make a profit are portrayed as recipients of illegitimate "windfalls."

Well, on a second thought my post in December was titled properly. I remember reading the following that was attributed to Warren Buffett: "There are three ‘I’s’ in every cycle. The ‘innovator,’ that’s the first ‘I.’ After the innovator comes the ‘imitator.’ And after the imitator in the cycle comes the ‘idiot.’” We are in the cycle when the "idiots" are running the show.

"one pertinent warning resounds throughout the book: When profits and wealth and creativity are denigrated in society, they start to disappear -- leaving everyone the poorer."
