Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday America!

Since public education is failing to teach our kids what 4th of July is about, I am putting up a few links that will help our kids learn that the 4th of July is not just a day we barbecue and watch fireworks.

Independence Day 2008

I send greetings to all Americans on Independence Day.

More than two centuries ago, bold and courageous visionaries pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor in signing the Declaration of Independence. Guided by ancient and eternal truths, our forefathers proclaimed to the world that liberty was the natural right of all mankind and in doing so began one of the greatest chapters in human history. On the Fourth of July, our country commemorates the great achievements of these heroes and reaffirms its unwavering confidence in the power of freedom.

It was the desire for freedom that inspired our Founding Fathers, and it is the belief in the universality of freedom that guides our Nation. On this occasion, we pay special tribute to the men and women of our Armed Forces, both past and present, who have answered freedom's call and defended the values that make America the greatest country on earth.

May God bless America.

GEORGE W. BUSH

Presidential Message, Independence Day 2008

Here is what wikipedia entry says about Independence Day:

In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, picnics, baseball games, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States, but is often also viewed as simply a summer festival, apart from its patriotic overtones.

Most teachers ask their students to do research online and one of the first sites these students visit is wikipedia. We do not celebrate "history, government and traditions of the United States" on 4th of July. We celebrate, as the President Bush so eloquently states in his message, our founders' proclamation to the world that liberty was the natural right of all mankind. We celebrate our inalienable Rights like Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness. Guess what? It is a PATRIOTIC Holiday that should make you proud of being an American.

Learn more about the Declaration of Independence.

Liberals have been working tirelessly to take away our inalienable Rights. They are the ones celebrating whenever an unborn American's Life is taken away. They are the ones who keep passing laws, rules and regulations that restrict our Liberty. They are the ones who sneer at Americans who are pursuing their Happiness. They want us to work for Government they control. They want to enslave us. That is why your teachers are not teaching you anything meaningful about 4th of July or the Declaration of Independence. They rather teach you about multi-culturalism and diversity because you knowing your identity as an American is a threat to the liberal agenda.
